These terms govern use of the Trace website. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
The site is operated by Trace Technical Compliance Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17325886. The registered office is 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.
These are website terms only. They are not the terms on which Trace provides consultancy or project services.
What the website content is, and is not
The site explains Trace’s services, shares general observations about PPE testing, certification, evidence and technical decision-making, and offers free learning material in the guides.
Website content, including that learning material, is provided for general information. It is not legal advice, regulatory advice tailored to a particular product, a conformity assessment, a certification decision or a substitute for reviewing the actual product, evidence, market, intended use and current rules.
Standards, guidance, enforcement practice and product facts change. Trace takes reasonable care with published content but does not promise that every page is complete, current or suitable for your particular situation. You should not make a product, test, certification, claim or market-access decision solely from the website.
No website content guarantees testing success, certification, approval, compliance, market access or a particular commercial outcome. Those decisions may remain with test houses, notified or approved bodies, regulators, marketplaces or other independent organisations.
When a client relationship begins
Sending an enquiry, booking a call or receiving an initial response does not itself create a client relationship or require Trace to accept work.
Client work begins only when the parties agree the scope and applicable commercial terms in writing. A proposal, statement of work, engagement letter or other written terms governs that work. If those terms conflict with this page, the written client terms take priority for the engagement.
Trace does not act as a test house, certification body, notified body, approved body, regulator or legal adviser.
How you may use the site
You may browse the site and print or save reasonable extracts for your own internal business reference.
You must not:
- use the site unlawfully, fraudulently or in a way that harms the site or another person;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting or connected systems;
- introduce malicious code, interfere with availability or circumvent security;
- misrepresent Trace’s content as your own advice, approval or certification; or
- systematically copy, scrape, republish or commercially exploit substantial parts of the site without written permission.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the site and its text, structure, branding, graphics and original materials are owned by or licensed to Trace Technical Compliance Ltd and are protected by intellectual-property law.
Internal reference use does not transfer ownership or grant a wider licence. You may not reproduce, adapt, publish, sell or use site material to provide competing services without prior written permission.
Third-party names, standards references and trade marks remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance does not imply endorsement.
Availability, security and external links
Trace may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the site without notice. Trace does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, or that the site will always be free from errors or harmful code.
You are responsible for using suitable device, browser, network and security protections.
Links to third-party websites, including Cal.com, are provided for context or convenience. Trace does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, security or privacy practices. A link does not amount to an endorsement.
Linking to Trace
You may link to a public page in a fair and lawful way that does not damage Trace’s reputation or suggest an association, approval or endorsement that does not exist. Do not frame the site, or link from unlawful or misleading content.
Responsibility for using the website
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow that, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the extent permitted by law, Trace is not liable for loss arising from reliance on general website content, inability to use the site, third-party websites, or loss of profits, revenue, business, opportunity, anticipated savings, goodwill or data connected with use of this free website.
Any liability arising from paid client work is governed by the written terms for that engagement, not this website page.
Changes, governing law and contact
Trace may update these terms when the site, services or legal requirements change. The current version stays published here with its update date.
These terms, and any non-contractual dispute connected with the website, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you a right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
